Freepoint Eco-Systems, a Texas-based company that uses advanced recycling technology to secure and recycle plastic, has joined the Cyclyx Consortium, a group of industry participants developing recycling solutions for all types of post-consumer plastics.
By joining the consortium, the company hopes to improve its plastic waste collection efforts and leverage Cyclyx's community engagement capabilities, such as accessing plastic waste material for advanced recycling and working with similar organizations to increase the recyclability of plastic from 10% to 90%.
Analyst QuickTake: Freepoint is making further strides in expanding its advanced recycling presence in the US by joining the Cyclyx consortium. Via the consortium, Freepoint Eco-Systems’ will be able to secure necessary plastic feedstock for its commercial-grade advanced recycling facilities in Texas and Ohio —both slated to begin operations in 2024.
