Estonian company Clevon (formerly Cleveron Mobility), a spinoff from Cleveron providing autonomous delivery vehicles (ADVs) for last-mile delivery, has partnered with printing and shipping store PostNet in Northlake, Texas, to launch a commercial autonomous delivery service in the area. This marks Clevon's entry into the US.
Clevon's ADVs will be used to deliver parcels to PostNet customers within a few miles radius of its office in Northlake. The service will be offered during scheduled delivery times on weekdays. The companies have already concluded test runs successfully.
Clevon looks to expand operations in the US to include additional services, such as food and grocery deliveries, in the future.
Analyst QuickTake: Clevon has operated its ADVs on public roads in several European countries for over three years. Today’s partnership materializes its goal of entering the US —a geography that the company has been eyeing, noting the better-developed legislation regarding autonomous vehicles in the US compared to Europe.
