VFC, a UK-based alternative meat developer, has launched its first chilled chicken alternative range, which includes VFC's Original Crispy Chickn Filets and Piri Piri Chickn Wings, with the latter coming with a separate dipping sauce.
The new range is made from wheat protein and sold at GBP 3.5 (~USD 4.5) for a 190 g pack of Chickn Filets or a 219 g pack of Piri Piri Chickn Wings. The meat alternatives are 96% and 285% more expensive than same-size real meat options sold at Asda.
Analyst QuickTake: This launch follows VFC’s acquisition of British plant-based meat producer Meatless Farm with a diverse portfolio of products including plant-based burgers, sausages, ground meat, hot dogs, and ready meals. The acquisition supported the diversification of VFC’s plant-based portfolio.
