IDEX Biometrics partners with Goldpac Fintech Hong Kong to deploy biometric smartcards

Partnerships

  • IDEX Biometrics, a fingerprint sensor manufacturer, has partnered with Goldpac Fintech Hong Kong Limited (the international business arm of Goldpac Group) to deploy biometric smart cards across the globe for payments and access controls.

  • Goldpac Group is reportedly the fourth largest payment cards supplier in the world—present in more than 30 countries in the world and serving over 1,700 issuers and financial institutions. Accordingly, its global presence and position should help the company promote the global commercialization of biometric payment cards.

  • Analyst QuickTake: IDEX has continued to enter partnerships in recent times to encourage biometric payment commercialization. Two months ago, the company partnered with Bangladesh’s DoelPay and France’s SELP. It also received a USD 1 million volume production order from a European biometric payment card manufacturer last month. Moreover, IDEX also raised ~USD 11 million in May to invest partially in accelerating commercialization.
