Sylvera, a British provider of AI-driven carbon offset ratings, has raised USD 57 million in a Series B funding round led by Balderton Capital.
The company intends to utilize the funds to expand into the US market, where Sylvera plans to open a New York office and build up a local team focusing on providing its services to US financial services companies and the asset management industry. Part of the funds will also be invested in building engineering and product development teams.
The funding round was also supported by new investors Fidelity Strategic Ventures and 9Yards Capital, alongside existing investors Index Ventures, Insight Partners, Bain & Company, Salesforce Ventures, Speedinvest, Seedcamp, and LocalGlobe.
Analyst QuickTake: Sylvera’s Series B funding round brings the company’s total funding to USD 95.5 million. This latest funding round follows the company’s USD 32.6 million Series A funding round co-led by Index Ventures and Insight Partners in January 2022 . The company stated that it has scaled up its customer base seven-fold, and serves leading clients, including S&P Global, Salesforce, BCG, and Mitsubishi.
