Kroger converts Tennessee store location to fully self-checkout format

Product updates

  • Kroger has converted its grocery store in Franklin, Tennessee, to a self-checkout-only format. The store will feature Kroger's belted self-checkout lanes, which allow customers to scan items and automatically move them to a bagging station.

  • In order to support the conversion to a fully self-checkout format, the store will also feature new wide belt lanes that can accommodate large volume purchases.

  • The stores will, however, still be manned with Kroger staff who will be able to assist the customers in their checkout process if required.

  • Kroger also plans to convert another Tennessee location to a fully self-checkout format later in the year.
