RingCentral Inc., a leading provider of AI-powered global enterprise cloud communications, has announced the acquisition of Hopin Ltd.'s flagship Events platform and a product called Session, which are used for virtual and hybrid events and hosting online gatherings. The acquisition price was not disclosed.
Hopin is a London-based venture-backed startup known for its Events platform and used by companies to host virtual events, manage marketing, and create landing pages. Its customer base includes key enterprises such as PepsiCo and VMware.
Through the acquisition, RingCentral aims to leverage Hopin's Events platform and Session service within its collaboration software ecosystem. It will integrate the acquired technologies to enhance its offerings in virtual events, webinars, and small-scale online gatherings. Further, it is expected to provide more personalized interactive events and video meetings. Additionally, RingCentral will hire professionals from Hopin who worked on the acquired products.
