Electric vehicle and clean energy company Tesla is reportedly planning to roll out the beta version of its Full Self-Driving (FSD) driver-assist technology in China and is working to establish a local operation team for the purpose.
The company will have to test the FSD technology on real roads extensively to identify weaknesses and make necessary improvements before rolling it out.
Tesla is yet to obtain approval from the Chinese regulators for the rollout.
Analyst QuickTake: Tesla’s FSD technology is currently in beta stage and is widely available in North America , with limited availability in Europe and Australia. The news on further expansion comes despite the many setbacks that Tesla’s FSD has faced in the recent past, including recalls and growing regulatory and public scrutiny .
