Form Energy, a long-term energy storage startup, has received a USD 12 million grant from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), for the deployment of a 10 megawatt/1,000 megawatt-hour iron-air battery system. This brings the company's total funding to USD 935.8 million.
Form Energy is the major recipient of NYSERDA’s long-duration energy storage grant program, amounting to USD 17 million. The company expects to use the funds to l advance its first multi-day battery system in New York.
The project is expected to go live in 2026, as the only multi-day energy storage project currently in the New York State.
