80 Acres Farms, a vertical farm that grows greens, herbs, and vegetables, has expanded its retail partnership with Kroger to supply about 1,000 Kroger stores in the Midwest and Southeast.
As part of the partnership, Kroger will bring 80 Acres Farms' fresh produce to new regions, including Michigan, Tennessee, and Georgia, in 2023 and to the Mid-Atlantic and Delta regions in the fall. 80 Acres Farms will also provide Kroger customers with products beyond its existing salad blends, including grab-and-go fresh meals.
Analyst QuickTake: 80 Acres Farms has been a supplier to Kroger since 2019, beginning with a single store in downtown Cincinnati and expanding to over 300 stores across Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky by 2021. Apart from Kroger, 80 Acres Farms also supplies to Whole Foods, The Fresh Market, Dorothy Lane Markets, and Jungle Jim’s Markets, along with foodservice distributors Sysco and US Foods.
