Netherlands-based Vegan Zeastar, a plant-based brand of Vegan Finest Foods, has launched what it claims to be the world's first alternative to king crab.
Named King No Crab, the plant-based product claims to mimic the taste and texture of conventional king crab while being free of palm oil and GMOs. It is suitable for sushi, poke bowls, crab cakes, salads, and more, and comes without a shell for easy handling.
According to the company, the king crab alternative is priced affordably to battle the rising prices of king crab and boasts a long shelf life when frozen.
Vegan Finest Foods (a collaboration between Vegan Xl and Vegan Junk Food Bar), founded in 2018, offers a variety of plant-based products such as No Salmon Sashimi, No Tuna Sashimi, Beastie Burgah, Crispy Chik’N Wings, and more under its brands, Vegan Zeastar and Beastie Plants. These are produced in different countries and are available for purchase in the US, Europe, Canada, and Australia.
