Electra, a French EV-charging solutions provider, has partnered with Energy Infrastructure Partners (EIP), a renewable energy-oriented asset management company, to form a joint venture (JV)-focused on EV charging. The latter is representing a group of Swiss pension funds.
Electra will hold a 50.1% stake in the JV, while EIP will inject EUR 200 million (~USD 217 million) in initial capacity through 2026 to support operations. The JV intends to expand Electra’s installed EV charger charging capacity in Switzerland and Austria.
Electra already operates in eight European countries and has installed over 500 charging points. The company intends to add another 200 charging stations—100 each in Switzerland and Austria—by 2026.
