ZeroAvia partners with Masdar to develop aircraft refueling infrastructure

Partnerships

  • ZeroAvia, a hydrogen-based aviation solutions developer, has partnered with Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar), a leading clean energy company in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), to explore the production and supply of hydrogen at key locations.

  • The two companies will initially focus on projects in North America and Europe and will also explore the opportunity to establish zero-emission flights in the UAE. Masdar aims to deliver the world’s first hydrogen-powered commercial flights with this partnership.

  • Analyst QuickTake: During the same month , ZeroAvia reported that it developed the world's first high-performance compressor for fuel-cell-based aviation propulsion systems, which is significantly more powerful than existing fuel-cell compressors. The company intended to incorporate the technology into its first two hydrogen-electric engines: The ZA600, which is to be in service by 2025, and the ZA2000, which is to be launched in 2027.
