HappyVore (formerly known as Les Nouveaux Fermiers), a French plant-based meat startup, has launched plant-based allumettes, which are matchstick-shaped bacon pieces.
The allumettes are smoky flavored and made using textured pea protein, water, natural flavors, soluble corn fiber, salt, red beet, and carrot concentrate. It claims to be high in protein and fiber and low in fat.
According to the company, the allumettes can be used for various dishes, including quiches and carbonara, and cooked in three to five minutes.
