eFuse lays off 30% of its workforce; postpones Creator League esports series

Management news

  • eFuse, a gaming platform that provides a hub for esports and gaming, announced that it is laying off approximately 30% of its workforce (~30 employees) for long-term financial stability.

  • The layoffs follow the postponement of eFuse’s Creator League, a community-focused esports series that faced controversy over its use of blockchain technology and NFTs. eFuse clarified that the Creator League was not intended to be a crypto project and apologized for poor communication regarding blockchain usage.

  • eFuse claims that it has plans to refine the league’s structure based on community feedback and will host an open Fortnite tournament as a gesture of appreciation for fans who purchased passes during the initial sale.
