Co-founders of Argo AI, a now-defunct Ford- and Volkswagen-backed self-driving tech company, have founded a new self-driving truck startup called Stack AV. Softbank Group is its sole investor, with a reported USD 1 billion investment.
Softbank Group's support includes capital, resources, and AI expertise to aid Stack AV's growth and technological advancements.
Stack AV has already tested its technology in trucks with a safety driver on board. Currently, trucks are mostly being used to collect data on the driving environment.
The company currently employs 150 people across its headquarters in Pittsburgh and in 15 other states via a remote work model.
