  • Co-founders of Argo AI, a now-defunct Ford- and Volkswagen-backed self-driving tech company, have founded a new self-driving truck startup called Stack AV. Softbank Group is its sole investor, with a reported USD 1 billion investment.

  • Softbank Group's support includes capital, resources, and AI expertise to aid Stack AV's growth and technological advancements.

  • Stack AV has already tested its technology in trucks with a safety driver on board. Currently, trucks are mostly being used to collect data on the driving environment.

  • The company currently employs 150 people across its headquarters in Pittsburgh and in 15 other states via a remote work model.
