Mosa Meat becomes first B Corp-certified cultivated meat brand

  • Dutch cultivated meat pioneer Mosa Meat has become the first cultivated meat company to attain B Corp certification. The company also announced plans to apply for regulatory approval in countries worldwide.

  • The company claims that its cell-cultured beef products can reduce climate impact by 92%, reduce air pollution by 94%, and use 95% less land and 78% less water than conventional beef.

  • Analyst QuickTake : B Corp certification is a third-party certification provided by the non-profit organization B Lab to companies that meet certain standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. B Corps are businesses that prioritize social and environmental responsibility alongside profit.
