Solarcycle, a California-based company that recycles solar panels to produce sustainable materials for the solar industry, has partnered with Greenbacker Renewable Energy Company, a sustainable infrastructure company, to recycle the latter's decommissioned solar panels.
The multi-year partnership will be exclusive and long-term, providing Greenbacker with a committed recycling partner for its fleet of solar projects, while Solarcycle gains a contracted volume of end-of-life panels to scale its operations.
In this year, Solarcycle also signed similar deals with Orsted and AES Corporation . The company aims to achieve economies of scale with high-volume contracts and support a circular solar panel supply chain in the US.
