Austrian FoodTech startup Revo Foods is launching its 3D-printed whole-cut salmon filet in Rewe Group's vegan store, Billa Pflanzilla. According to the company, this is the first 3D-printed alternative meat to launch into retail.
The 3D-printed salmon filet is made from mycoprotein and uses its new extrusion technology, 3D-MassFormer, to recreate the texture and flavor of conventional fish.
Priced between EUR 6–7 (~USD 6.5–7.5) for a 130 g filet, this product is ~80% more expensive than real salmon sold at Rewe supermarkets.
