Freepoint Eco-Systems, a Texas-based company that uses advanced recycling technology to secure and recycle plastic, announced the development of a commercial-scale advanced plastics recycling facility in Eloy, Arizona. It would be built on 40 acres of unutilized land to recycle ~180,000 tons of plastic waste annually from the first half of 2026.
Freepoint expects to recycle plastic instead of diverting it to landfills or incineration through the facility. It will also create new construction and circular economy jobs in the region from 2024/2025.
Freepoint's first commercial recycling plant is under construction and scheduled to launch in the second half of 2024.
