Markforged launches on-demand parts platform Digital Source

Product updates

  • Markforged, a seller of 3D printers and related products, has launched a new on-demand parts platform called Digital Source.

  • The platform facilitates the licensing and 3D printing of manufacturer-certified parts, eliminating the need for physical inventory management. Manufacturers can upload digital part designs, which can then be securely licensed to customers, distributors, and contract manufacturers.

  • Analyst QuickTake: This launch aims to minimize downtime for manufacturers by providing agility in printing spare parts when and where they are needed, contributing to increased efficiency and profitability in manufacturing. Additive manufacturing companies that initially concentrated on selling printers are now venturing into the on-demand market. Notably, Inkbit also made its entry into the on-demand space in June this year.
