Pachama, a B2B carbon offsetting startup, has raised an undisclosed amount from Mercado Libre, the largest ecommerce company in Latin America, as a part of the Regenera América program, a biodiversity conservation initiative.
The funding is earmarked for protecting biodiversity in Latin America and removing CO2 from the atmosphere.
Pachama, in partnership with Mercado Libre, expects to expand projects focused on conserving Amazon forests, reforestation near São Paulo, tropical forest restoration, coffee agriculture support, and reforestation projects in Rio de Janeiro and Bahía states.
