Trace Carbon Solutions develops CO2 sequestration hub with Molpus Woodlands in Louisiana

Partnerships

  • Trace Carbon Solutions, a carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) development platform, has signed an agreement with Molpus Woodlands Group, a forestry management company, to develop a CO2 sequestration hub in Louisiana. The Evergreen Sequestration Hub would be a combination of underground carbon storage with an above-ground ecosystem.

  • In the partnership, Trace expects to store and manage the carbon sequestration process, while Molpus will manage the forest that spans 20,000 acres.

  • The hub is estimated to have a capacity of storing ~250 million metric tons of CO2. It is also located near several high-emitters in the region, reducing the CO2 transportation costs.
