French FoodTech startup Umiami raised EUR 32.5 million (~USD 34 million) in Series A funding co-led by SPI Fund and French Tech Seed, with participation from VERSO Capital, Astanor Ventures, Redalpine, and Newfund.
The fresh funds will be used to facilitate Umiami’s goal of becoming a plant-based market leader, expanding in France, and accelerating product distribution in Europe. Further, the company plans to enter the US market and has appointed John Hatto as the managing director for North America.
