Metropolis Technologies raises USD 1.7 billion to acquire SP Plus

Funding

  • Metropolis Technologies, a park-and-go app for making contactless parking fee payments, raised USD 1.7 billion in a funding round led by Eldridge Capital and 3L Capital, bringing the total funding value to USD 1.9 billion.

  • The funding includes USD 650 million in loans and USD 1.05 billion in Series C preferred stock financing. Other participants included BDT & MSD Partners’ affiliated credit funds, Vista Credit Partners, Temasek, Slow Ventures, and Assembly Ventures. 

  • Metropolis plans to use the funding to acquire SP Plus, a provider of parking facility management services. The transaction, whill will make SP Plus a private equity, is expected to close in 2024, subject to regulatory approvals and SP Plus’ stockholder’s agreement.
