Metropolis Technologies, a park-and-go app for making contactless parking fee payments, raised USD 1.7 billion in a funding round led by Eldridge Capital and 3L Capital, bringing the total funding value to USD 1.9 billion.
The funding includes USD 650 million in loans and USD 1.05 billion in Series C preferred stock financing. Other participants included BDT & MSD Partners’ affiliated credit funds, Vista Credit Partners, Temasek, Slow Ventures, and Assembly Ventures.
Metropolis plans to use the funding to acquire SP Plus, a provider of parking facility management services. The transaction, whill will make SP Plus a private equity, is expected to close in 2024, subject to regulatory approvals and SP Plus’ stockholder’s agreement.
