Israeli FoodTech startup Wanda Fish Technologies has raised USD 7 million in seed funding led by Aqua-Spark, with participation from The Kitchen Hub, Peregrine Ventures, and others.
The funding will be used to optimize its technology and expedite the scalability of its cultivated bluefin tuna prototype. Wanda Fish plans to obtain regulatory approvals from the FDA in 2025 and begin selling to restaurants in 2026.
Wanda Fish is developing whole-cut cultivated fish filets and has made progress in forming a 3D prototype using bluefin tuna cells. The company claims its technology can accurately control fat levels in the end product, enabling the development of various cuts.
