Cell-cultured seafood startup BlueNalu has raised USD 33.5 million in series B funding with participation from Agronomics and other new and existing investors. Having invested USD 8 million across the company's series A and B rounds, Agronomics holds a 5.12% equity stake in BlueNalu.
BlueNalu aims to scale up its San Diego facility in preparation for commercial production and plans to produce whole-muscle bluefin tuna toro, unlike hybrid seafood varieties developed by other cultivated meat companies.
