Clevon lays off 20% of staff as it closes unprofitable business lines

Management news

  • Estonian company Clevon (formerly Cleveron Mobility), a spin-off from Cleveron that provides autonomous delivery vehicles (ADVs), is laying off 20% of its workforce due to the closure of unprofitable business lines.

  • The layoffs will affect 38 people, with 21 of them from Viljandi County, where the company's operations are primarily based. The production and development departments will be the most affected.

  • Cleveron aimed to reach profitability this year after three consecutive years of losses. However, the company now notes that it will not be able to reach the goal this year, but mentioned that the losses for 2023 are likely to be lower than the previous year’s. Cleveron attributes the layoffs to the need to cover losses and adjust their strategic focus.
