VinFast, a Vietnamese EV company, has received USD 2.5 billion in funding. The funding stemmed from a USD 1 billion grant from founder Pham Nhat Vuong, as well as a USD 500 million grant and USD 1 billion loan from its parent company, Vingroup. This brings the company's total funding to USD 10.7 billion.
The company aims to use the funds to support its growth objectives.
During April 2023, Vinfast also exported its second batch of EVs to the US and Canada and intends to launch its EVs in France, Germany, and the Netherlands over the year.
