Dronamics partners with Emirates Post Group to explore cargo drone usage in UAE

Partnerships

  • Dronamics, a UK- and Bulgaria-based middle-mile cargo drone manufacturer, has signed a letter of intent (LOI) with Emirates Post Group (EPG), the official postal operator of UAE, to explore the use of cargo drones in the UAE.

  • Under the partnership, EPG will trial Dronamics' cargo drone service for same-day middle-mile and long-range deliveries. The aim is to develop a cargo drone delivery network in the UAE and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

  • The companies plan to conduct proof-of-concept flights in 2024. Upon successful pilots, EPG plans to integrate the technology used in the partnership into its logistics network.

  • Analyst QuickTake: This is not the first time a postal service explored the use of drones for delivery purposes. In fact, Royal Mail has conducted drone-based deliveries in Scotland with Skyports, while Swizz Post partnered with Matternet for drone-based deliveries in Switzerland.
