DAIZ, a Japanese plant-based meat company, has raised 7.1 billion yen (~USD 47.4 million) in Series C funding, consisting of debt and equity.
The funds will go toward building a new production facility in Kumamoto, Japan, with operations expected to start in February 2025.
The new facility will have an annual production capacity of 20,000 tons and help the company expand its domestic market, accelerate international exports, and rejuvenate the local economy through job creation.
