Divergent acquires Sigma Additive Solutions’ software and intellectual property

  • Divergent Technologies, a company offering additive manufacturing solutions for automotive manufacturing, has acquired Sigma Additive Solutions, a provider of in-process quality assurance solutions to the additive manufacturing industry, for an undisclosed amount.

  • Sigma Additive Solutions specializes in in-process quality assurance technology, including software and intellectual property, which enhances efficiency and quality control in additive manufacturing.

  • Divergent Technologies plans to integrate Sigma's technology into its Divergent Adaptive Production System (DAPS) platform, improving production yields, expediting timelines, and accelerating material development. The acquisition also enhances customer adoption in safety- and mission-critical applications.

  • Analyst QuickTake: Divergent has established its presence in the automotive industry by entering partnerships with companies like Aston Martin and General Atomics to digitize manufacturing processes. In December last year, the company also raised USD 100 million to build factories across the globe.
