Drivewyze and Georgia DOT expand Smart Roadways Service coverage

Partnerships

  • Drivewyze, a provider of weigh station bypass solutions, and the Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) have expanded their partnership to provide real-time traffic alerts to commercial truck drivers through Drivewyze's Smart Roadways service.

  • Smart Roadways service is a software application that provides real-time traffic alerts for commercial truck drivers. It alerts drivers on areas where drastic speed changes or heavy traffic congestions are detected, enabling them to adjust their driving speed to avoid collisions. It can be embedded in electronic logging devices and also installed on smartphones and mobile devices.  The application utilizes real-time traffic alert data of INRIX, a developer of software solutions for the automotive and transportation industries.

  • The service was initially deployed in 2022 and, with the expanded coverage, will provide alerts across 1,400 miles of interstate and state highways in Georgia. It is also available in six other states (Delaware, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Virginia, and the Pennsylvania Turnpike), with plans to expand to more states.
