StoreDot partners with Flex|N|Gate to ramp up commercialization

Partnerships

  • StoreDot, an Israeli extreme fast charging (XFC) battery developer, has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Flex|N|Gate, a global automotive component manufacturer, to sample and scale up the commercialization of StoreDot's batteries.

  • Under the agreement, StoreDot’s 100in5 battery cells will be produced at Flex|N|Gate’s lithium-ion cell pilot factory in Windsor, Ontario, in 2024. Furthermore, the two companies will also collaborate with local automotive OEMs to produce cells with specified performance and formats.

  • Analyst QuickTake: This partnership comes on the heels of StoreDot’s partnership with Volvo Cars in September 2023 , where the two companies agreed to develop an EV battery for the upcoming generation of Volvo EVs. Furthermore, the partnership with Flex|N|Gate is also part of the company’s plan announced earlier this year to localize its battery production through collaborations across the US, Europe, and Asia.
