Plus Power has raised USD 1.8 billion in new financing for standalone battery storage. The funding was led by multiple lenders and investors, including Deutsche Bank and Bank of America. This brings the company's total funding to USD 2 billion.
The capital will be used to fund the construction and operations of five projects, including a 250 MW energy storage facility in Arizona and three battery plants in Texas. The projects aim to address increased demand and provide grid stability in their respective regions.
Founded in 2018, Plus Power develops, owns, and operates standalone energy storage systems. The company specializes in large-scale lithium-ion battery systems and has a growing portfolio of projects in over 25 states and Canada, with a total interconnection capacity of 10 GW.
