Markforged, a 3D-printing company, has announced updated versions of its H13 and D2 Tool Steel filaments for its Metal X 3D-printing system.
The updated H13 and D2 Tool Steel filaments are designed for the Metal X 3D-printing system. They have improved flexibility and reduced brittleness and come in larger spools for longer printing runs.
Markforged claims that the updated filaments improve printer performance and quality of printed parts. The larger spools also reduce material changeover time and allow for more printing before a new spool is needed.
Analyst QuickTake: In December 2018, Markforged introduced the H13 Tool Steel, and later expanded its material offerings to include the D2 Tool Steel. These advanced materials have enabled the creation of various industrial applications, such as metal forming tools, injection molds, and durable inserts for fixtures.
