Mi Terro, a California-based startup that produces biobased plastic material from agricultural waste, has signed a Joined Development Agreement with Lipton to develop dissolvable tea pods.
The collaboration aims to create edible, dissolvable packaging materials that can be used for portable, pre-portioned tea pods. The films are made from bio-based ingredients and dissolve within seconds without leaving any residue. The partnership also explores the use of these films in other applications such as sauce packs and protein powder packs.
