Google launches GenAI product imagery tools for US advertisers

Product updates

  • Google has released a set of GenAI tools named Product Studio for advertisers in the US. The service, which uses AI to generate product images, is free to use and requires a text prompt to generate the desired image.

  • Advertisers can use Product Studio for various tasks, such as changing the background color of product images or rendering more complex scenes. The AI can also enhance the quality of low-grade images, remove distracting backgrounds, and adapt existing photos for different campaigns.

  • The feature is now available to all Merchant Center Next users as well as those who use the Google and YouTube apps on Shopify.

  • Analyst QuickTake: This news comes a week after Amazon announced beta testing AI image-generation tools for advertisers to create lifestyle scenes around product ads.
