Aurora Innovation launches commercial-ready route in Texas ahead of driverless truck launch in 2024

Product updates

  • Aurora Innovation (Aurora), an autonomous vehicle technology startup, has opened its first dedicated lane for autonomous trucks in Texas, connecting Dallas and Houston, supported by commercial-ready terminals at both ends.

  • The terminals will facilitate the safe operation, maintenance, and inspection of autonomous trucks. These terminals currently operate 24/7, supporting the transport of over 75 loads per week for pilot customers.

  • Aurora is also preparing its Command Center to support 24/7 commercial operations. The unit includes a team of remote operators to monitor and guide the Aurora-powered trucks, dispatchers, and vehicle operators. The team currently supports commercial pilots.

  • The company plans to launch commercial autonomous trucking services in 2024.
