Beyond Meat, a plant-based meat company, has decided to cut 19% of its non-production workforce (65 employees) following an underwhelming third quarter. This move is part of a larger corporate review and is expected to save the company approximately USD 10.5 million to USD 12.5 million.
In addition, revenue guidance for FY2023 was revised downward to USD 330 million to USD 340 million, representing a decrease of 21% to 19% compared with last year.
Analyst QuickTake: Beyond Meat, one of the breakthrough plant-based meat companies, is struggling due to lower demand for plant-based alternatives, compounded by inflationary pressures. The company laid off around 240 employees last year and has been decreasing its revenue guidance each quarter since Q1 2023.
