Quantron and Ford Trucks partner to develop emission-free heavy commercial vehicles

Partnerships

  • Quantron, a German developer of electric and hydrogen commercial vehicles, has signed a letter of intent (LOI) with Ford Trucks, a heavy commercial vehicle manufacturer, to explore the integration of Quantron's technology into Ford's trucks.

  • The collaboration will focus on the incorporation of Quantron's technology including e-axle, high-power battery, fuel cell, and optimized aerodynamics into Ford's heavy-duty trucks. The aim of the collaboration is to foster the development and market introduction of hydrogen fuel cell trucks.

  • The first phase of this collaboration, beginning in 2024, will see Ford's advanced trucks built with new security regulations and designed for emission-free adaptation.

  • Analyst QuickTake: During the same month , Quantron partnered with IKEA Austria to provide its QUANTRON QLI FCEV trucks at the first IKEA market worldwide. Thus far, IKEA Austria has 45 QLI BEV trucks in use in the greater Vienna area and 11 more in other Austrian cities. The company also intends to make all of its last-mile deliveries emission-free by 2025 and plans to expand its fleet of H2 trucks to 40 units.
