6K Additive acquires Global Metal Powders to expand sustainable powder production Capabilities

  • 6K Additive, a developer of sustainable materials for additive manufacturing and metal alloys, has announced the acquisition of Global Metal Powders (GMP), a company known for its proprietary manufacturing and recycling capabilities in preparing material.

  • GMP is specialized in processing titanium and refractory metals, along with manufacturing high-purity chromium powder. Its main manufacturing facility is in New Castle, PA. GMP's proprietary technology is able to create customized powders using several types of metal alloys.

  • Following this acquisition, 6K Additive plans to use GMP's technology to produce sustainable titanium and refractory metal powder on a large scale.
