Elcogen, an Estonian developer of solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC), fuel-cell stacks, and electrolyzer cells, has signed a supply and research and development collaboration agreement with Genvia, a French company developing high-performance electrolyzer and fuel-cell technologies.
This collaboration builds on their two-year partnership on commercializing solid oxide electrolyzers and contributes to the Important Project of Common European Interest (IPCEI).
As such, Elcogen and Genvia will work together to reduce the costs of green hydrogen production by strengthening the European value chain of high-performance electrolyzers.
Analyst QuickTake: Recently, in October 2023 , Elcogen also partnered with Bumhan Fuel Cell to commercialize SOFC and solid oxide electrolyzer cell (SOEC) technology. Under the partnership, Elcogen agreed to supply its SOFC and SOEC technology, while Bumhan will contribute its knowledge and experience. Furthermore, in the same month , Eclogen received an investment of EUR 45 million (USD 47.6 million) from Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering for its solid oxide technology.
