Avnos and SoCalGas partner for pilot demonstrating HDAC technology

Partnerships
Product updates

  • Avnos, Inc., a Hybrid Direct Air Capture (HDAC) firm, has initiated its first commercial pilot project for HDAC in Bakersfield, California, US. This initiative was carried out in collaboration with Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas) and supported by funding from the US Department of Energy.

  • The HDAC pilot delivers the world’s first water-positive Direct Air Capture (DAC) solution, where Avnos can produce five tons of liquid distilled water per ton of CO2 captured, compared to similar or greater water consumption in other DAC technologies. The project aims to capture ~30 tons of CO2 and generate ~150 tons of water per year.

  • The partners aim to increase its current capacity by 1,000% for a larger pilot facility in the future. Avnos expects to support the California state’s goal of sequestering 100 million tons of CO2 by 2045.
