Einride partners with GE to launch full-time autonomous truck operations in Tennessee

Partnerships

  • Einride, an electric and autonomous truck manufacturer, has partnered with home appliance manufacturer GE Appliances to launch long-term autonomous truck operations. The trucks will transport finished goods between GE Appliances' manufacturing facility and warehouse in Selmer, Tennessee.

  • The deployment is part of an interoperability project aimed toward creating a safe and efficient automated logistics flow. The project also leverages partnerships with TaskWatch, a developer of computer vision solutions, and  Slip Robot, a developer of robotics solutions, to automate the loading process. The trucks utilize a private network provided by telecommunication solutions provider Ericsson for communication between the vehicles and the on-site remote operator.

  • Analyst QuickTake: The two companies initially partnered in October 2021 to launch an autonomous truck pilot in GE Appliances’ Appliance Park in Louisville, Kentucky. In October 2022 , the companies completed their first public road pilot in Selmer.
