The German government has announced plans to allocate EUR 38 million (~USD 41.5 million) in the 2024 budget for plant-based, precision-fermented, and lab-grown proteins.
The allocation will be utilized for various measures, including promoting proteins meant directly for human nutrition, establishing a competence center for future proteins, facilitating the transition from traditional animal farming to alternative protein production and processing, and exploring innovative production of alternative proteins.
