UK-based quantum startup Oxford Quantum Circuits (OQC) has raised USD 100 million in a Series B funding round led by Japan's SBI Investment, with participation from Oxford Science Enterprises, University of Tokyo Edge Capital, Lansdowne Partners, and OTIF managed by Oxford Investment Consultants. This round brings the total funds raised by the company to USD 146.5 million.
The funds will be directed toward the company’s R&D activities to achieve quantum advantage and deliver next-level quantum computing platforms with hundreds of qubits to global companies.
In conjunction with this, the company launched its OQC Toshiko, the world's first enterprise-ready 32-qubit quantum computing platform, as a private beta offering with an upgradeable design. The processor is designed to be integrated into commercial data centers, enhancing existing high-performance computing (HPC) resources and creating a hybrid computing environment.
