Graphyte, a startup incubated by Bill Gates' Breakthrough Energy Ventures, has partnered with American Airlines for a carbon removal agreement of 10,000 tons to be delivered in early 2025.
Graphyte plans to deliver carbon credits from its Carbon Casting process, which would be deployed at its first commercial facility in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, from biomass byproducts.
Through this partnership, American Airlines aims to reduce its carbon footprint to reach net-zero emissions by 2050 and strengthen the CO2 removal market.
