HTC launched the Vive Ultimate Tracker, with each tracker priced at USD 199 in North America (and the three-pack priced at USD 599), with similar price points in their local currencies in the UK and Europe.
Each tracker weighs 94 g and comes with two wide-angle FOV cameras for 6DoF inside-out tracking, eliminating the need for external base stations. The product also provides up to seven hours of battery life and can connect to HTC’s Vive XR Elite and Vive Focus 3 headsets via a USB-C dongle, allowing up to five trackers to be paired simultaneously.
Analyst QuickTake: The launch follows Sony’s mocopi trackers in July 2023 , priced at USD 449. While the mocopi is designed specifically for motion capture solutions, such as digital avatars in VR, the HTC Vive Ultimate Tracker differentiates itself via use cases for sports training and industrial use, too.
