Fervo Energy, a next-generation geothermal energy startup, has begun operations at its geothermal power plant in Nevada. The company, which initially formed a partnership with Google in May 2021, has now begun to supply electricity to the latter's data centers in the state.
Additionally, to tap into the subsurface heat in Nevada, Fervo dug two horizontal wells and installed fiber-optic cables to capture data that shows the flow, temperature, and performance of the geothermal system in real time.
